SCOUTS – ‘Be Prepared’

Boys and Girls between 11 &15 years of age.

Morningside Scouts meet every Thursday from 6.00 to 8.00 pm

Your new Scout will join a Patrol, which is a group of 6-8 other Scouts.

The Patrol is run by a ‘Patrol Leader’ (PL) who is appointed by the rest of the patrol.  The PL works with an Assistant Patrol Leader (APL) who is appointed by the Patrol Leader.

Scouts camp out every 6-8 weeks; their camps could include long hikes, survival, canoeing, and abseiling and lots more.

Two or more patrols together make a Scout Troop.  The Scout Troop is run by the Patrol Leaders with the guidance of the Scout Leader; this is called the ‘Patrol System’.

Scouting is about learning new skills while having a lot of fun hiking, camping, abseiling, canoeing, other water activities and much, much more.

Scouting will give your son or daughter a unique responsibility (to themselves and others) not only to be trustworthy, but to be honest and loyal as well – to become a better citizen.

We look forward to seeing your son or daughter as part of our Troop.

The uniform for Scouts consists of a blue shirt with green sleeves and collar. They also wear the Queensland maroon scarf.

To order a uniform please contact the Scout Shop.
