Morningside Scouts
Our programmes are flexible with a wide range of activities adapted of the needs of the young people in our local community. Our activities are based on the interests of the young people with an emphasis on useful skills and service to others. Many activities make use of the outdoors theme that have a spirit of adventure and a challenge. Considering the problems faced by young people today, Scouting has a far greater application than ever before.

Information on group structure.
Scouts everywhere:
- Have a firm commitment to a code of living (the Law and Promise)
- Learn by doing;
- Work together in small groups under their own (youth) leadership with adult assistance;
- Participate in progressive and stimulating programmes of varied activities;
- Have a sense of service to the community.
The adult contribution to Scouting means many things to many people, but above all it is about service to young people by providing them with a tried and tested program of activities designed to train them to cope with the world as responsible and valuable citizens.
Youth Sections:

Joeys - Boys and Girls aged 6 - 8 years

Cubs - Boys and Girls aged 7.5 - 11 years

Scouts - Boys and Girls aged 10.5 - 15 years

Venturers - Boys and Girls aged 14.5 - 18 years
Leaders are volunteers, male or female over the age of 18 years. There is no upper age limit. Eligibility conditions apply. Suitability card (blue card) and police checks apply. All training costs are met by the Scout Group. Leader uniforms are at own cost.
Meeting Times:

Joeys Monday - 5:00pm - 6:00pm

Cubs Monday - 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Scouts Thursday - 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Venturers Wednesday 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Section leaders will advise of alternate meeting times for other activities. We do not meet during school holidays.
